Hooked On Driving is a community of people who love their cars, love to drive, and enjoy driving them in the controlled environment of a road course, while not competing. Founded in 2004 as a high performance driving experience (HPDE), we enjoy driving our cars closer to their potential than is prudent on the public highways. Founded in 1995, the Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA) provides the driving enthusiast the opportunity to experience high performance driving in a safe and controlled environment. SCDA events are strictly driver educational events, and are non-competitive. SCDA welcomes everyone from novices with no track experience, as well as seasoned track drivers. The mission and purpose of the Porsche Club of America’s Driver Education Program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment. The PCA DE Program is designed so that participants can improve their driving abilities and acquire a better understanding of vehicle dynamics and driving safety. Participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of high performance automobiles in a controlled, closed-course environment and acquire skills that will enhance safer vehicle operation in all driving situations. Genesee Valley Chapter BMW Club is hosting an event at Watkins Glen International. ‘GVC’s Ultimate Driving School teaches advanced driving techniques, and is the main component of our High-Performance Driver Education (HPDE) program. Our school integrates in-car instruction with classroom learning, and often includes extras such as infield paddock exercises, and guided “track walks”. Our schools are currently conducted at Watkins Glen International, and are run in compliance with the strict minimum driving school standards established by the BMW Car Club of America.

Trackmasters organizes track events with managed passing rules, allowing students and experienced drivers to safely learn to drive at high rates of speed.

History and prestige return to the birthplace of North American road racing for one of the largest vintage racing events in the country at the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix. Paired with Friday’s Grand Prix Festival in downtown Watkins Glen, the Grand Prix weekend is a true celebration of the motorsport’s past, along with the cars and people who have made it what it is today. In addition to the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), the on-track portion of the weekend also includes the highly competitive Trans-Am Championship. Audi CCA, NEQ Region is hosting an event at Watkins Glen International. ‘Our High Performance Driving Schools are suitable for all skills levels from Novice to Expert. The school combines classroom and on-track instruction in a closely supervised and controlled environment. Students are divided into “run groups” according to their prior experience and evaluations from previous schools. The Northeast Region PCA is hosting an event at Watkins Glen International. ‘From a technical perspective, Drivers Education (DE) is a program developed by PCA to give drivers the opportunity to learn how to drive their cars on real racetracks in a safe, controlled and fun environment. Typically a DE event is run over 2 or 3 days. Each day usually has four or five driving groups (divided by experience and skill level) on track four times for 20 to 30 minutes each session. To ensure maximum safety and fun you're placed in a run group with other drivers with similar experience and skill levels.
